SAME SEX MARRIAGES
How thrilled was I when same sex marriage was legalised in Australia on 9th December 2017. Since then I have celebrated many marriages for same sex couples whether it be on beaches, national parks, reception centres, or in the privacy of their own home.
Same sex marriages are a beautiful celebration of love, equality and the right for every couple to have their commitment recognised and honoured. They stand as a reminder that love knows no gender and that the bonds of partnership, respect and devotion are universal.
When two people, regardless of gender, choose to marry, they are affirming the same timeless values that any couple does: love, loyalty, shared dreams, and the desire to build a life together.
Same sex marriages feel especially powerful as they represent not only a union between two people who love each other and recognise an inclusive and compassionate society.
